picture book - project ‘YeudYun’ - 1
This is a story about resilience.
When my 7-year-old nephew went to school, he received an award of being ‘resilience’. I was curious what is it about and his teacher told me my nephew did not do great at work and fell behind the rest of the class. But he has been improving. Resilience was an ability to comeback.
Maybe destiny finds its way, the resilience is a meaning of my childhood toy - Yeudyun. Yeudyun is a humanoid wooden keychain. It’s made of wooden beads, stitched together with elastic band. It’s a perfect nostalgia material to tell story about being resilient.
Hence, I started researching about ‘resilience’.
And I started doing character design for ‘Yeudyun’, the heart of this story.
The first draft I made giving respectful to my nostalgia humanoid wooden toy. It was accurate from my memory. But personally, it is not according to mood & tone of Sad Bear and Sassy Cat x Dr.Blat.
The journey of making new picture book has been started. And this is a memo of this journey.
